Ann & Wanaina

Posted on Oct 17, 2010 by in wedding photography | 5 comments

Ann and Charles (or Wanaina in his traditional name) celebrated with a mixture of American and Kenyan traditions. Wanaina’s family met Ann at the house, singing Amazing Grace in their own language and dancing Ann to the limo. After a traditional ceremony they jumped the broom and then were welcomed into the reception with more singing and dancing. After dinner and the traditional first dance, daddy-daughter dance, and mother son dance, they surprised us with Kenyan attire for a second first dance. Weddings are always about the merging of two people and families into one, and this day was literally the joining of two worlds!

  2. I love the last two photos. The BW photo has such a tender moment, and the last photo with the fountains is stunning. Great work.
