Addie & Neil

Addie and Neil’s wedding in New Orleans was an amazing combination of thoughtfulness, memories, the culture of New Orleans, and community. We walked into the house the morning of the wedding, meeting them for the first time, and felt as if we had known them all our lives. We love how this process of taking pictures gives us the chance to capture anticipation, joy, and the subtleties of relationships, all while creating new friendships and relationships ourselves. . . Welcome to Neil and Addie’s New Orleans wedding at the Pavilion of the Two Sisters in City Park!

Alexandra & Michael

Alex and Mike had a beautiful wedding full of family, laughter, and a bit of glamour. From the moment we walked into the hotel room to moments at twilight in railroad park to hugs at the end of the day as they climbed on the party bus, we had an amazing day weaving in and out of the festivities and capturing the grace and joy with which they interacted with each and every one of their guests. Welcome to their wedding day. . .

Rachel & Josh

Rachel and Josh’s wedding in Boca Raton at the Addison last week was absolutely magical. This was the 4th wedding we’ve shot for this wonderful group of people, (see her twin Marisa’s here, bridesmaid Alli’s here )and brother-in-law’s sister Jenine’s here ), and we felt like we were walking into family when we arrived. Rachel and Josh were both serious and goofy and we loved all the moments of the day – from their first look on the boardwalk – to the signing of the ketubah – to their beautiful twilight ceremony under the banyan trees – to the sunglass filled dance party – to the bridesmaids jumping into the ocean (and the groom getting thrown in) – as well as many stolen moments throughout the day.

I had a terrible time narrowing down pictures for their post because I wanted to include them all. . . hope you enjoy this little glimpse!

Lisa & Justin

Lisa and Justin had a beautiful fall day at the Sonnet House – the home of our favorite tree in the world :). Lisa and Anita (AKBrides) had planned every detail of the day impeccably – from the personalized wine glasses, to the hand knit flowers on the cake table, to the seamless infusion of burlap, pinks, and champagnes. Carol of Lillie’s Flowers complemented everything beautifully with flowers in dusty pink and white, and old fashioned restored church pews lined the ceremony aisle. Lisa and Justin wandered around the beautiful grounds with us without any concern or complaint and Justin mastered the veil “floof”. They had moments of goofiness and abandon and Lisa’s face would light up as she glanced our way “this,” she said, “is us.” – and they trusted us completely to capture it all.

We have been back to the Sonnet House every few months for our entire time in Birmingham and I got a little nostalgic as we drove in for this wedding. . we have had amazing couples, met amazing friends, and loved making incredible images for our brides and grooms there. We are so glad Lisa and Justin gave us a chance to return again. John and Angela of MainStreet were beside us to capture the day in video; Rabbi Barry performed a beautiful ceremony; Happy Catering filled everyone’s bellies, JAMM entertainment kept the party going; and they left in Coat’s Classic Cars’ beautiful Rolls Royce for a few more pictures in front of Tutwiler before they went out with friends to continue the celebration

Lauren & Jordan

Lauren & Jordan had their ceremony at her parent’s beautiful home overlooking the Coosa River near Gadsden. It was an amazing place and perfect for a 7 o’clock ceremony, but it was a scorcher earlier in the afternoon. What do you do when it’s too hot to be outside for more than 10 minutes at a time? Find a good window and the most amazing flare and shadows ever!

Some highlights: Jordan is a professional gospel singer and recorded the song they used for their first dance – quite impressive! The paper lantern release was a lot of fun. . .even if you’re a grown-up it still seems like magic as they rise into the night sky. And yes, the dogs really did kiss:)

Shalon from Whatawhirl Events did a wonderful job with the planning/coordinating, and I was able to shoot with my old friend Al from Awaken Films (and my new friend Tyler, Al’s co-worker!)

Congratulations Lauren & Jordan! It was an honor to be a part of your wedding!!
