We have anticipated Marissa and Haim’s wedding since we first met them at her sister Alli’s wedding in DC several years ago, and it was just as wonderful as we could have hoped. Family and friends arrived from every corner of the world – Israel, Morocco, India – and the day truly was a grand celebration. Thank you M & H for having us be a part of your celebration, and we are so excited for you as you start your life together as husband and wife!

It has become a tradition, driving to New Orleans to photograph beautiful weddings for this special family. Also in tradition, the wedding was at the church where Jen’s parents were married. Jen and Rhett were so kind and delightful to work with, and we had a fantastic weekend as shows in the pictures. Preparations took place at the bride’s home, wedding at Holy Name of Jesus Church, and the reception was at the New Orleans Country Club.

Hannah and Nathan

Hannah and Nathan’s wedding was special for us on so many levels – special enough to fly half way around the world early to make sure we made it to the rehearsal. . .a wedding where our girls walked down the aisle with her and I replayed countless moments of our life in Birmingham over in our head as they walked through the day. We had been there from the beginning, from Hannah’s first days at Samford to conversations about her friend Nathan, to big changes that rocked her world and brought depth and tears and searching to our friendship, to the moment when she admitted that she thought she might be falling in love with her best friend. . . And then, while she traveled, we got to know the humble, deep thinking, laid back man that had won her heart. We watched from the other side of the world and waited, praying for their hearts and their lives and I jumped up and down when I saw the proposal. It was an honor and a privilege to document this day, and we hope you can see the laughter, comfort, and celebration that came when Hannah’s vivacity met Nathan’s steadiness in a day to promise forever. . .

An amazing weekend from Michigan football to rooftop rehearsal dinner to ceremony and reception in the amazing Detroit Opera House. It is a distinct honor to have a couple fly me around the world to shoot for them – so much trust involved from their end – and for me it was so, so worth the trip! Definitely one of the kindest couples, family, and friends I have worked – it is a blessing to meet new people and instantly feel accepted and at home. Thank you also to my good friend Kevin Roberts for making the long trip up from Birmingham to shoot with me.
