Kourtney & Caleb

We had an amazing time photographing Kourtney and Caleb’s elegant and personal wedding at the Roundhouse Depot in Huntsville, Alabama. As David said – the light was with us all day -from the clouds to the golden light, to the ambiance in the Depot at night. Kourtney and Caleb are crazy about each other and they had a super fun wedding party, the hardest working parents and family we’ve ever seen, and a fantastic band (Seducing Alice) making for a fantastically fun day. I had a REALLY hard time narrowing down the pictures. . . so here are a few of my favorites. . . -ari

Heather & Wes

Last Saturday’s wedding was so much fun. . . that’s what we keep saying as we look at the photos. Heather and Wes are crazy about each other. They were both beaming with happiness the whole day, and they have fantastic family and friends that clearly love them a ton. Heather kept things elegant and simple with a black and white palate with lots of cool textures. The ceremony was at Bluff Park Methodist, the reception at B&A (one of our favorite indoor venues in town), and afterwards we went back with them to Ross Bridge to take some sunset shots. We had a blast wandering around the grounds with them, hanging out and taking epic pictures. As we were putting this post together, David said -“And this is why I love my job. . . ”

Sarah & Michael

I still remember the day that I was sitting at the computer working on pictures and heard David talking about theology with our UPS driver, Michael – granted in snippets as David signed for the package, but theology all the same. As photographers, we get lots of packages, and over the course of the last couple years, David and Michael have become good friends. When Sarah, a violinist in the Birmingham symphony, and Michael got engaged, we told would love to shoot their wedding. Sarah and Michael’s wedding last weekend was at our home church in Birmingham. It was a day built around the wedding service, the message, and the fantastic music – from classical sacred music to theme from Rocky as they walked out of the church.

The service and reception were at our church in Vestavia Hills, and Sarah’s mother brought together all the details from the flowers to the reception.

Engagement Shoot Highlights

We post a lot of weddings, but we don’t get to post another huge part of what we do. The engagement shoot is when David gets to meet the couple, hang out with them a bit, and begin to build a friendship and trust. As you can see from the pictures below, we still love cool trees, dramatic skies, and great light – but also capturing how the couple enjoys each other and interacts. We have 1000s of engagement pictures, but here are a few of our favorites (and most recent) – if you want to see more you can go to the Engagement Gallery on the website . We snuck one of us in there as well – that one was done by David’s brother with Avalanche Photography

Jennifer & Jason

Jennifer and Jason had a fantastic wedding last weekend at the Sonnet House, one of our favorite places to shoot in the world. Many thanks to Anita Kanellis of AK Brides who coordinated the weekend, Carol of Lillie’s flowers for the beautiful bouquets, Natalie with Kathy G for the catering, Jackie from Rawwbeauty for Jennifer’s makeup, Andy Tolar with Design productions who did the fantastic lighting, the fabulous staff at the Sonnet House – and of course, Jennifer and Jason for giving us tons of time during the day to take awesome pictures.
